N423AT? Charles Rinker crinker crinker@numediaprod.com
I've been wanting a family cruiser to comfortably carry 4 (650lbs) people and a fair amount of luggage. The 114 fits the bill I think, but just noticed N423AT on the market on ASO.com. A few questions for anyone who knows this plane or any advice from Richards on operating the IO-580.
1) At 1750hrs on 3AT, I would assume planning on a rebuild in <3 years is in order. Do you have any estimated cost on a rebuild for an IO-580?
2) Insurance: What are you seeing for insurance rates on such a powerhouse? As a low-time pilot (<200hrs), should I just right this off until I get some more left seat time?
3) Airframe stresses: Are there any additional maintenance items on the airframe that you need to be concerned with by putting on the extra horses and weight of a 580?
4) CG: Any change in CG that you need to concern yourself with (minimum full limits on landing weight, etc.)?
Thanks!
