rust, headliner and carpet question for you all. Mark Breimeister aaaprod aaaprod@aol.com I just made a deal to buy a 112a and have a few questions as I can see the plane needs some attention.
1) There is a small amount of rust under the eight year old paint that since the plane is in Arizona has not progressed and appears dry. The rust is located around just a few scattered rivets on the top of fuselage. It is dry and hard. Is this sort of thing uncommon or likely to progress once the plane resides in Michigan? Is it really a big deal to repair?
2) The headliner around the door sills where the white door trim (JC Whitney stuff) attaches is coming down. The problem is that the material that the trim slips over has worn down to nothing so there is nothing for the trim to attach to in some spots if you follow me. What can be done to repair this?
3) Carpets need to be replaced. Anyone know of a good source?

And one last question on a different subject, I need to find a Commander knowledgeable mechanic in the Phoenix area to conduct a prebuy on my behalf. Anyone know of someone?

Thanks,
Mark Breimeister
