Removing Pilot Side Yoke Chuck Rinker crinker crinker@numediaprod.com I've seen a few posts that elude to removal of pilot side yoke, but no clear answer.

Are the wires going into the pilot yoke for autopilot interruption and maplight "unpluggable" somewhere or do the wires need to be cut?

I'm simply trying to take my panel plastic off for painting.

Do I need an A&P to remove the yoke w/ wires? I thought maybe that there was enough slack in the cable line that I would be able to pull the wires out far enough and find a plug connector or something, but wanted to ask before i start randomly yanking on cables inside the yoke bar.

Any help is appreciated.
