Polish for Paint and Spinner Dawn Darling dldarling dldarling@cox.net Hi All,

I have now tried a huge collection of cleaners and polishes on our Commander. Here are some of the results.

My previous favorite for the spinner used to be BOMS Away. I have just tried Flitz, and it is better than BOMS Away. I even managed to polish the whole spinner by hand in under 25 minutes. Very nice finish - I was surprised to see such a difference! Supplies from http://www.flitz.com/

I have tried Dri Wash 'n Guard, Wash n Wax All, The BOM and Supercoat on the paintwork. Dri Wash 'n Guard is still my favorite, as it has the best combination of ease of application and minimal effort to clean and polish. It lifted off the dirt and bugs with very little effort, and left a nice slippery shine. The finish was less even with Supercoat, but it might have been better if I had washed the airplane first - it was quite dirty.

I am applying the cleaners/polishes with a clean terry towel, and polishing them off with a microfiber cloth. This seems to give good results. The terry towel is better at bug removal than microfiber, but the microfiber leaves a better shine. Just my 2 cents...
