Lost in Translation Bill Bailey wab003 wab003@aol.com

Probably best for Jim Richards but I'll throw it open to anyone who might have the information this owner is seeking.

I recently rec'd an email
(this isn't the first one... can't figure out how my name is getting around)  from an owner in Brazil asking for some help in finding parts for his 112A but we were experiencing some difficulties w/ language issues.  I have a neighbor fluent in Portuguese and asked her for an assist to be certain the new owner's real intent was being understood.  Well, I thought he was thinking about changing his engine; but it turns out he apparently already has.

After a couple of exchanges w/ many characters my keyboard can't recreate, here's the gist... (translated from Portuguese, so we're still a little rocky on the grammar)

"Mrs. Nilma, thanks for your help and I apologize, my English is not good.

I sent an email to Mr. Bailey telling him that I have an airplane model Rockwell Commander 112A. When it arrived in Brazil coming from the US, it had an engine of 4 cilinders(200Hp). In 1994 we saw in a magazine that they in the States, they were switching the engine by changing the support of the engine (called berth) and replacing it for a bigger engine of 6 cilinders(260Hp). We got in contact with a store in the Sates, bought the "support" and changed the engine.

My plane now has an engine of six cilinders, but in order to legalizes its documents here in Brazil I need the factory or shop to provide me with the documents stating that the engine can be switched from 4 to 6 cilinders without causing problems for the plane, since it hasn't changed the center of gravity. Besides, I need to buy some parts for the airplane and would like for Mr. Bailey to send me names and emails of stores where I can get the parts that I need.
In the previous email, Mr. Bailey asked me to go to the commander.org website, but in this site, where should I go to look for parts?

Thanks for your help and for Mr. Bailey willingness to help me too.
Are you Brazilian?
I live in Brasilia-DF (The country's capital)

Regards, Edmur"

Jim - heard anything about this mod?  I thought you were the AC11 hot rod guru.   Someone else out playing fast and loose offering mods w/o paperwork?  Is old what's-his-face (Bob Cordray for those of the GenX group)  haunting us from his grave?  (timing is about right isn't it?)   Anyone ever heard about this mod?

Hope to gain Edmur as a new COG member (language could be an issue) and let him gain access to the wealth of info available on the site.  Sounds like he might currently have an AC11 baby that may have become illegitimate...

Regards,

Bill
